Richard Hermanto

Gap Year Intern

Richard is a Gap Year Intern at Ethne Health, where he supports the clinical and resource staff through patient intake, provider assistance, and referral navigation. Before joining Ethne, Richard graduated from Emory University, where he studied Human Health.

Born and raised in Georgia, Richard is the son to a Chinese-Indonesian mother and father. Growing up in a community where he witnessed fear, mistrust, and unfamiliarity with the healthcare system shape individuals’ experience with medicine and their quality of life drives him to assist in fostering an environment for patients where pursuing healthcare can feel more accessible and approachable. As an aspiring physician and guided by his Christian faith, Richard was drawn to serving in and learning more about Ethne’s mission of advancing Jesus’ love and justice through high-value healthcare for people of all cultures and backgrounds.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys playing sports such as football, basketball, and soccer, playing bass guitar, writing poetry, and spending time with friends and family.
